En novembre – décembre 2023, le groupe ELCE 3e a étudié le mouvement artistique Pop art et l’œuvre de ses fondateurs Andy Warhol et Roy Lichtenstein, des artistes novatrices Nicola L et Pauline Boty et enfin de David Hockney, peintre britannique qui s’est installé à Los Angeles.
Pour mieux comprendre la méthode artistique de ces figures de proue du Pop art, les participants du projet se sont mis à leur place et ont essayé leurs moyens d’expression. Face aux défis artistiques, ils se sont rendu compte que les choses qui paraissaient simples au premier abord demandent en réalité une grande maîtrise.
Une des tâches à l’étape finale était de créer une série d’interviews inspirée du magazine iconique Interview fondé par Andy Warhol. En discutant avec les célébrités, il voulait montrer leur vie réelle.

In November – December 2023 the group ELCE 3e explored the Pop art movement.
We talked about Roy Lichtenstein, Nicola L, Pauline Boty and other artists, but we mostly concentrated on Andy Warhol, probably the most famous pop artist. His work makes us ask questions like What is art? and Who can be an artist? We explored the map of Manhattan where he lived and worked. We also discussed his famous prints and discovered the silk screen technique which is much more complicated than we had imagined. Finally, we found out about the magazine called Interview – a magazine founded by Andy Warhol in which he wanted to reveal celebrities’ real lives and everyday conversations.
We even created our own zines – self-published magazines – by folding some paper in a special way to get the shape of a magazine.
We continued our project with British pop art. We discovered the work of David Hockney – a British artist who moved to Los Angeles – and discussed the difference between his art in Great Britain and in the US. We also made another zine about him as a team.
There were also other projects: posters, potato prints, series of portraits and everyday objects inspired by the portraits of Marilyn Monroe by Andy Warhol…
But today we are happy to show you our series of Interview magazines.
